Perth land Young Socceroo on loan from Danish Superliga outfit

Former Brisbane Roar central midfielder Zach Duncan has returned to Australia from Denmark, signing for Perth Glory on a season-long loan from AGF Aarhus.

Duncan, 22, is an Australia Under-23 international who departed the Roar in 2019 for the Danish club, subsequently accruing 27 appearances for AGF in all competitions.

A Marconi Stallions junior, Duncan went on to play for Sydney Olympic and Football New South Wales NTC, moving through the youth ranks of both Sydney FC and Western Sydney Wanderers before excelling at the Roar to rise into the first team.

Duncan made four appearances for Brisbane in the 2018-19 Isuzu UTE A-League campaign, scoring one goal.

Glory head coach Ruben Zadkovich says he’s excited to contribute to Duncan’s development after securing his signature on loan from AGF.

“Zac is a player that has a lot of positive attributes which will enhance our team with and without the ball,” he said.

“He is a natural ball-winner and has the technical ability to match.

“I’m looking forward to seeing him shine back in the A-League and am very excited to play a part in his development as a player and a person.”
