Wanderers confirm three more exits, including star import & Olyroo

Tunisian international Amor Layouni headlines three confirmed departures from the Western Sydney Wanderers, including 2021 Wanderers Medallist Adama Traore and youngster Alessandro Lopane.

Layouni joined the club on loan from Norwegian side Valerenga Fotball in January and was a bright spark in his five months at the club.

The winger scored four goals in 11 games, including a double in their 4-0 drubbing of arch-rivals Sydney FC back in March.

His form at the Wanderers also earned him a recall to the Tunisian national side in March, having been on the outer since October 2019.

Meanwhile, Traore departs after two seasons at the Wanderers, where he became a central figure in the side’s defensive unit.

The 33-year-old left-back made over 50 appearances for the club and won the 2021 Wanderers Medal after arriving from Melbourne Victory.

His form in his first season also earned him a spot in the 2022 A-Leagues All-Star side against FC Barcelona, where he came off the bench and scored in the second-half.

Adama Traore of the All Stars celebrates scoring a goal with Reno Piscopo.

Wanderers also confirmed the departure of youngster Alessandro Lopane, who terminated his contract to pursue other opportunities.

Lopane joined the club as a 12-year-old and worked his way up through the ranks in the Wanderers Academy – starting in Under 13s before eventually making his A-Leagues debut for the senior side in November 2021 against Macarthur FC

The 19-year-old midfielder went on to make 19 league appearances, including seven this season and has represented Australia at Under-17 and Under-23 level.

The trio are the latest players to part ways with the Wanderers, joining Morgan Schneiderlin, Romain Amalfitano, Yeni Ngbakoto, Jack Warshawsky, Terry Antonis and Daniel Wilmering on the departure list.
