The 15-player A-League Men fantasy roster with highest 2021-22 points total

They’re the players returning for more Isuzu UTE A-League action in 2022-23, who together would have netted you the highest amount of points combined in last season’s edition of A-League Men’s Fantasy.

From Western United keeper Jamie Young in between the sticks to strikers Beka Mikeltadze and Andrew Nabbout leading the line, running last season’s statistics through the scoring system used on KEEPUP’s fantasy platform reveals how these 15 players would have earned their points last season – and the subsequent effect on their collective and individual value in the game.

Each 15-player roster must feature:

  • Two goalkeepers
  • Five defenders
  • Five midfielders
  • Three forwards

The best possible combination for total points scored last season (of returning players in 2022-23) would have been the following:

STARTING XI (3-5-2)

Goalkeeper: Jamie YOUNG
Defenders: Jason GERIA, Javi LOPEZ, Ben GARUCCIO
Midfielders: Craig NOONE, Anthony CACERES, Jay O’SHEA, Craig GOODWIN, Jake BRIMMER
Forwards: Andrew NABBOUT, Beka MIKELTADZE
Bench: Tom GLOVER (GK), Jamie MACLAREN (FWD), Leo LACROIX (DEF), Jacob FARRELL (DEF)

Comparing the starting price and end price of each of the 15 players from 2021-22 in the above squad shows just how much your squad’s value can rise should you select players who perform:

Pre-season price combined (2021-22): $3,677,300

End of season price combined (2021-22): $4,463,400

Difference: $786,100

Pre-season price combined (2022-23): $6,121,500

This team is, of course, impossible to obtain in full ahead of the new campaign due to each player’s considerable rise in price, and the $4,000,000 budget available to each fantasy manager in pre-season.

When searching for players to include in your team on the A-League Men’s Fantasy website, all players can be sorted via their 2021-22 statistics. To do so, navigate to the “players tab”, before clicking the “2021-22 stats” option above the list of players.

From here, you can click the “assistant coach” dropdown menu, and select “stats” or “summary” to assess how each player scored across a number of categories last season.

This will be a useful tool in your selection process, showing you not only the total/average points each player would have accrued and how, but how their value changed throughout the campaign.

The table will show a starting price, end price and price change for every player from 2021-22 returning to action this season.

The fluctuating value of your players will be important to monitor in your own fantasy squad throughout the 2022-23 campaign, as your squad budget – starting at $4,000,000 – gets bigger or smaller dependant on the combined value of your individual players.

Breaking the above 15-player squad down into its strongest first 11 shows how each of the starters would have earned their points in 2021-22:
