A 30-man squad will be revealed on Friday, but first up, the 13 fan-voted players are in, with Western United leading the way with three representatives before the coach selection.

Western United’s Leo Lacroix and Ben Garuccio are players 12 and 13 in the Fan Vote.

Here are first 13 players, as voted by you, the fans:

GOALKEEPER

Jamie Young (Western United)

Young’s role in an incredible run of 1-0 wins – including a crazy save in the Elimination Finals – has seen him acknowledged with selection to thwart the likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

DEFENDERS

Adama Traore (Western Sydney Wanderers)

In a tough season for the Wanderers, Traore was a standout. The Ivorian was reliable in defence and a threat in attack, amassing his most league appearances since 2015-16. He recorded 183 recoveries and went head-to-head in 201 duels.

Curtis Good (Melbourne City)

The reliable City defender has enjoyed another fine A-League Men campaign with the defending champions, winning 72.2% of his aerial duels while scoring three goals and supplying one assist as a centre-back.

Leo Lacroix (Western United)

Western’s Swiss maestro has been one of the signings of the season, a key reason for the team’s stingy defence under John Aloisi, keeping nine clean sheets. He’ll showcase his quality against the likes of Ansu Fati and Memphis Depay.

Jason Davidson (Melbourne Victory)

Davidson’s reunion with Tony Popovic in Melbourne has rejuvenated not only the Australia international but Victory. Busy at both ends of the field, Davidson scored once and tallied three assists in 22 games, while keeping seven clean sheets and created 49 chances.

Rhyan Grant (Sydney FC)

The Sky Blues missed the finals for the first time in six years but Grant was solid again in Sydney. The Socceroo helped keep five clean sheets and created 20 chances in 19 games, which also resulted in one goal and three assists.

Ben Garuccio (Western United)

It’s been a jaw-dropping season for Garuccio, who made headlines worldwide with his viral ‘scorpion goal’ in February. A champion with City last season, the Western full-back has two goals and six assists to his name in 2021-22.

MIDFIELDERS

Daniel Penha (Newcastle Jets)

The Brazilian has dazzled in his first season in the A-League Men with the Jets, providing plenty of entertainment under Arthur Papas. Set to give Barca’s defence plenty of headaches, Penha put together a four-goal and 11-assist campaign in the Hunter Valley.

Anthony Caceres (Sydney FC)

Caceres took his game to another level in 2021-22, a regular source for goals and creativity. The Sydney midfielder found the back of the net five times, a personal-best return. He also had five assists.

Milos Ninkovic (Sydney FC)

The Serbian legend is showing no signs of slowing down at the age of 37. A two-time Johnny Warren Medallist, Ninkovic scored three goals and chipped in with two assists to help fuel Sydney this season.

FORWARDS

Jamie Maclaren (Melbourne City)

The Golden Boot winner. Maclaren showcased his goalscoring prowess once more this term with 15 goals in the regular season to scoop back-to-back scoring honours. The Socceroo forward will be relishing the chance to test himself against Barca’s best.

Beka Mikeltadze (Newcastle Jets)

Another superb find by the Jets, the Georgian set the ALM alight with his goals, finishing just two behind Maclaren in the Golden Boot race. Beka’s tally is the highest by a Newcastle player since Adam Taggart found the back of the net 16 times in 2013-14.

Craig Goodwin (Adelaide United)

One of the favourites to win the Johnny Warren Medal, Goodwin has flourished as captain of the Reds. The attacking livewire, who became Adelaide’s all-time leading scorer in the ALM, scored 10 goals and supplied eight assists in a devastating regular season.
