Tottenham Hotspur coach Ange Postecoglou’s incredible undefeated streak at home continued on Sunday morning (AEST), as Spurs came from a goal down in second-half stoppage time to defeat Sheffield United.
Spurs were staring down the barrel of defeat in the eighth minute of second-half stoppage time, before Brazilian striker Richarlison and Swedish attacker Dejan Kulusevski combined for two goals in two minutes to complete a dramatic comeback at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
The win continued Spurs’ undefeated start to the Premier League season under Postecoglou, heading into blockbuster matches against arch-rivals Arsenal and Liverpool in the next fortnight.
It also extended Postecoglou’s incredible unbeaten run at home to 50 straight matches, which stretches across his tenures at Yokohama F. Marinos, Celtic and Spurs. He’s also won 42 of those matches.

The Premier League Manager of the Month for August was asked about his remarkable home record in his post-game press conference and stated that his desire to “reward” the fans has been a driving force behind the unbeaten run.
“It’s funny you say that because I do put a big emphasis on that, wherever I’ve been, because ultimately for your supporters, as much you enjoy the away wins because you’ve got to earn every one of them, it’s when they come to their home ground that you want to really reward them,” Postecoglou said.
“From that perspective, if you can create that atmosphere, I’ve been very fortunate that at the last three clubs I’ve had we’ve had even in Japan 30,000 to 40,000, and at Celtic they’re always sold out, and it creates an atmosphere and you can see today it helps the team.
“I think that helps you as a club if you’re really strong at home so yeah it’s something I’m proud of.”
The victory over Sheffield sparked wild celebrations in the stadium among the reinvigorated Spurs fanbase – who have become enamoured with Postecoglou within weeks and with good reason as Spurs currently sit in second on the Premier League table.
Postecoglou was asked if fans should temper their expectations after their barnstorming start to the season, but the Aussie said the Spurs supporters should continue to revel in their solid form.
“No, no, no, let them go, let them go and enjoy it,” he said on Tottenham’s media channel.
“My role is not to burst people’s bubbles. Let them get excited, let them get ahead of themselves.
“That’s the beauty of being a supporter. They go through enough pain mate, you want to let them enjoy it. If they think we’re going to be world beaters then great, that’s up to us to match that expectation.
“Our supporters deserve to have some happiness and enjoy it any way they want to.”
