The sale of Perth Glory to Primeland group has collapsed after the Melbourne based consortium failed to make their first payment of $10 million.
The Australian Professional Leagues (publishers of KEEPUP) have confirmed reports on Monday that the deal with Primeland group’s Robert Brij alongside John Nekic has been terminated and the APL is now looking for new ownership for the A-Leagues club.
“The Prime Land group-led consortium were unable to satisfy certain conditions precedent to the sale transaction, and the sale agreement has been terminated by the Receivers, Korda Mentha,” an A-Leagues spokesperson said.
“Korda Mentha are continuing to work closely with the Australian Professional Leagues and will re-engage with other interested parties to secure a buyer for the Club.”
Glory has been in the hands of Korda Mentha since the end of former owner Tony Sage’s 17-year tenure in July.
Glory’s Liberty A-League Women’s side are top of the ladder with four wins from four games, while the Isuzu UTE A-League Men’s team are eighth with one win, one draw and two losses.
