Matildas have made three changes to the squad that will face Canada in the upcoming international window, after Mackenzie Arnold, Charlotte Grant and Holly McNamara were ruled out with injury.

Goalkeeper Arnold was withdrawn from the squad due to an arm injury, which caused her to miss West Ham’s 3-0 loss to Arsenal, while Grant was diagnosed with a hamstring injury following a standard pre-camp evalution.

McNamara will also miss after she ruptured her right anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in her knee in Melbourne City’s win over Newcastle Jets just over a week ago.

Sydney FC goalkeeper Jada Whyman, Leicester City attacker Remy Siemsen and Tigres midfielder Alex Chidiac have been called up in their place.

Chidiac has been a regular in the Matildas setup throughout the year, including being part of their 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup squad. Siemsen and Whyman were both in the provisional squad for the tournament, but didn’t make the final 23 player squad.

The Matildas will play Canada in two friendlies over the next week, first on Saturday December 2 (AEDT) at Starlight Stadium, before playing the Olympic gold medallists again on Tuesday, December 5 at BC Place in Vancouver.
