After an historic start to the 2023-24 Liberty A-League season, the opening round concluded with three more entertaining games on Sunday.

To begin Sunday’s slate of games, Melbourne City kicked off their campaign with a 1-0 win away to Wellington at Sky Stadium – Hannah Wilkinson scored the only goal, while Rylee Foster made an inspirational return to the football field.
Then, Adelaide United and Canberra United played out a wild 4-4 draw at Coopers Stadium. Vesna Milivojevic scored twice and Michelle Heyman celebrated her 95th goal in the A-Leagues, but Emilia Murray equalised in the 95th minute as the Reds rescued a draw.
To round out proceedings, Brisbane Roar went to The Home of the Matildas and upstaged Melbourne Victory 2-1 in wet conditions.
