Riku Danzaki is the latest player to make the journey from the Isuzu UTE A-League to the Scottish Premiership after joining Motherwell.
The Brisbane Roar forward arrives at Motherwell on a two-and-a-half-year deal.
Danzaki had been on loan in Brisbane from J1 League side Hokkaido Consadole Sapporo, making 12 appearances this season.
The 22-year-old- who could make his debut against Keanu Baccus and Ryan Strain’s St Mirren on Sunday (AEDT) – had scored nine goals in 26 matches in his first stint with the Roar in 2020-21.
“Riku is one we’ve tracked for a significant period of time and we’re delighted to have it finally confirmed,” Motherwell manager Steven Hammell said.
“He’s got really positive attributes and a different style to others we have in that area of the pitch.
“He is an energetic, hard-working technical player who has an eye for goal. He has spent the last few days with us, and already he’s fitting in well.
“We are looking forward to working with him over the next couple of years.”
Danzaki joins the growing list of players to swap the Isuzu UTE A-League for Scotland’s top flight, after Garang Kuol (on loan at Hearts from Newcastle United), Baccus (St Mirren), Kye Rowles (Hearts), Nathaniel Atkinson (Hearts), Cam Devlin (Hearts), Lewis Miller (Hibernian), Phillip Cancar (Livingston) and Mark Birighitti (Dundee United).
