Daniel Arzani signs with Bulls for 2022-23 ALM season

Former Melbourne City winger Daniel Arzani has returned to the Isuzu UTE A-League after a four-season absence, signing for Dwight Yorke’s Macarthur FC ahead of the 2022-23 Isuzu UTE A-League season.

The 23-year-old joined Manchester City in 2018 before an immediate loan to Scottish giants Celtic. He would go on to make a series of loan moves from City, joining Dutch side FC Utrecht, Danish club Aarhus GF and Lommel SK in Belgium.

Arzani truly arrived on the international stage at the 2018 FIFA World Cup; the teenager earned a place in Bert van Marwijk’s Socceroos squad after a blistering ALM season at Melbourne City, making bench appearances in Australia’s three group stage games against France, Denmark and Peru as the youngest player in the tournament.

Arzani featured under Graham Arnold as part of Australia’s Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games squad. He now returns to the ALM as Yorke’s ninth off-season signing, alongside Jerry Skotadis, Jed Drew, Eddie Caspers, Jonathan Aspropotamitis, Kearyn Baccus, Anthony Carter, Matthew Millar and Ivan Vujica.

Arzani says the prospect of working under Yorke was a major drawcard which helped seal his move to Macarthur.

“I’m looking forward to returning to the A-League and bringing my experiences to the Bulls,” Arzani told club media.

“Being a new club, it’s exciting especially to be working under someone like Dwight Yorke and the rest of the staff here at the Bulls. I can’t wait to be back on the pitch and to get the season started.”

Arzani pens his Bulls contract alongside Macarthur boss Yorke.

Bulls Group CEO Sam Krslovic added: “Daniel has developed in front of us into an incredible football player and has demonstrated the  drive and raw talent for success.

“To have a young player with the amount of experience and talent at our club is a privilege and we  believe under the guidance of Dwight Yorke, Daniel will continue to progress and showcase his  ability in the competition this season.”
