Another one! Brighton continue Sky Blue raid with third signing from A-Leagues club

Brighton and Hove Albion have confirmed the signing of Young Matildas star Charlize Rule on a long-term deal.

Rule, 20, is the third Sydney FC player to join the FA Women’s Super League club this off-season; Rule follows Mackenzie Hawkesby and Madison Haley in putting pen to paper on a contract at the English club.

The club has not yet specified the length of the deal which is “subject to necessary regulatory processes.”

Brighton head coach Melissa Phillips praised Rule as an ambitious young player as she departed the Harbour City to link up with the Seagulls.

“We are excited that Charlize is joining Brighton this summer from Sydney FC alongside her fellow teammates, Madison (Haley) and Mackenzie (Hawkesby),” Phillips said.

“She is an exciting young player with a lot of ambition in the game and we look forward to welcoming her into our squad.

“Her recent success in Australia will help carry momentum into the squad as we prepare for another season, but we also believe she can further develop as a young player with us in the WSL.”
