Bayern Munich sporting director Christoph Freund insisted he is “not worried” about Nestory Irankunda as the Germany-bound Australian star cut a visibly emotional figure in the A-Leagues over the weekend.
Irankunda, who will join Bayern at the end of the season, was in the spotlight on Sunday after he was substituted following a subdued display in Adelaide United’s 2-0 A-League Men defeat at home to Brisbane Roar.
The 17-year-old sensation covered his face with his jersey and his hands as the cameras panned to him.

“I’m not worried,” Freund told TZ and Merkur Stadt chief sports reporter Manuel Bonke.
“We looked closely at the player and we know that he’s very emotional and extremely ambitious. He is only 17 years old.
“It’s better when the boys are involved with heart and passion.”
After the Round 7 loss, Adelaide head coach Carl Veart told reporters: “Nestor’s just disappointed with his performance.
“He’s just disappointed that we lost and that’s all it is. He expects more from himself. He’s still a young player that has got a long way to go and a lot to learn.
“Tonight he wasn’t at his best and it’s about us helping him to find the tools to get better and have an influence in the game when it’s needed.”
