After three Championships and as many Premierships, two-time Johnny Warren medallist and former Serbia international Ninkovic sensationally crossed the divide – from the Sky Blues to the Wanderers ahead of the 2022-23 campaign.

Having gone from hero to zero in the eyes of Sydney fans, Ninkovic – in the aftermath of his big switch – explained the Sky Blues had offered him a new contract, on the condition he became an Australian citizen.
Ninkovic subsequently departed the club and joined the Wanderers.

Now, on the eve of Saturday’s mouth-watering fixture at Allianz Stadium, the Wanderers confirmed the 37-year-old is set to become an Australian in the coming weeks.
“The Wanderers congratulate Milos on the milestone and look forward to celebrating his Australian citizenship post-ceremony,” Western Sydney said in a statement.
