After a blockbuster start to the Isuzu UTE A-League season and Round Two of the Liberty A-League campaign, the action rolled on in a huge super Sunday.
In the Isuzu UTE A-League Men, Western Sydney Wanderers drew 0-0 with Wellington Phoenix at CommBank Stadium, before Perth Glory drew 2-2 with Newcastle Jets at HBF Park.
In the Liberty A-League Women, Western United came from behind to defeat Melbourne Victory 2-1 at City Vista Reserve, before Perth Glory downed Newcastle Jets 1-0and Western Sydney Wanderers fell to a 3-0 defeat to Wellington Phoenix, rounding out two doubleheaders.

Western Sydney Wanderers and Wellington Phoenix have taken a point apiece from their 2023-24 Isuzu UTE A-League season opener in a 0-0 draw at CommBank Stadium highlighted by a series of impressive saves by Phoenix keeper Alex Paulsen.
Paulsen has staved off competition from new Wellington signing Jack Duncan in the off-season to start in between the sticks in Round 1 and the 21-year-old did not disappoint new Phoenix head coach Giancarlo Italiano in just his fourth A-Leagues start, with a series of eye-catching saves preserving his clean sheet and a point for the travelling side.

MATCH REPORT: Super sub’s first A-Leagues goal fires Western to dramatic comeback win over Victory
A first A-Leagues goal from super sub Keiwa Hieda has fired Western United to a come-from-behind 2-1 win over Melbourne Victory in difficult conditions at City Vista Reserve.
Emma Checker gave Victory the lead in the 15th minute, before Melissa Taranto bundled home an equaliser in the 66th minute.
With minutes remaining, Hieda came from the bench to tap home the winner and give Western their first win of the new season, while Victory are now winless from their opening two games for a second successive campaign.

Perth Glory attacker Susan Phonsongkham has continued her red-hot start to the 2023-24 season, scoring the solitary goal in a 1-0 win over Newcastle Jets to send her side back to the top of the table.
Perth began the weekend in top spot after the opening round of the campaign, and retained their position at the end of Round 2 thanks to Phonsongkham’s match-winner in the 50th minute, buried into the bottom-left corner to seal all three points in a tightly-contested matchup at HBF Park.

MATCH REPORT: Jets strike at the death to take a point off Perth on the road
Apostolos Stamatelopoulos has marked his return to Newcastle Jets with a 92nd-minute header to take a point off Perth Glory in a 2-2 draw at HBF Park on Sunday evening.
The new man at the Jets, returning to the club in the off-season for the first time since the 2020-21 season, found the back of the net via a late Jets free-kick, taking full advantage of a misjudgement by Glory keeper Oliver Sail who was left stranded as Stamatelopoulos looped his header into an open net.
The last-gasp goal was Newcastle’s second equaliser of the night; Adam Taggart’s second-minute finish was cancelled out by a Kosta Grozos rocket, with Glory substitute Stefan Colakovski’s 64th-minute goal off the bench looking like the winner until the death when Stamatelopoulos snatched a point for the Jets.
