Adelaide United have announced that Ryan Kitto will captain the club’s Isuzu UTE A-League side in 2023-24 after the departure of previous skipper Craig Goodwin.
An Adelaide native who come through the club’s youth team and has since racked up 181 appearances for the Reds, Kitto is a logical choice to step up after the Socceroo sealed a move to Saudi Arabian side Al-Wehda late in the transfer window.
The 29-year-old will lead a new look leadership group, supported by Isaias, Joe Gauci and Ben Halloran who have all been appointed vice-captains for the upcoming campaign.

“I am deeply honoured to have been named captain of Adelaide United and I can’t wait to lead the boys out onto the park this season,” Kitto said.
“I have loved this Club and everything it stands for even before I made my debut, and I feel privileged every time I step out onto Coopers Stadium.

Adelaide boss Carl Veart expressed his confidence in the appointment of Kitto as his side’s new skipper.
