Adelaide United have signed Australian/New Zealand attacking midfielder Rosetta Taylor ahead of the 2023-24 Liberty A-League campaign.

Taylor, 22, joins the club from Nottingham Forest in England, after a seven-year stint at Valencia CF Femenino in Spain.

Last season, Taylor helped Forest to the FA Women’s National League Cup.

Taylor has spent the past week training with Adrian Stenta’s Adelaide squad; the Reds head coach says the club’s newest signing will bring a number of important qualities to the playing group.

“This is a really exciting opportunity both for the Club and Rosetta and I can’t wait personally to see what she can bring to the A-League after experience around the world,” he said.

“She is a sharp, quick player with great vision and footwork, and we hope she can contribute to some positive play for us this season.

“Rosetta has already been training with the group in what has been a seamless transition, so we’re looking forward to a great season ahead.”

Taylor says she’s been watching the Liberty A-League develop over the years, buoyed by the success of the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, staged across Australia and New Zealand.

“I’m really delighted to have signed with Adelaide and I feel this is a really good move for my career,” Taylor said.

“I’ve watched the A-League grow from afar through the years and with the added excitement of the World Cup, I just can’t wait to get started.

“I’ve been training with the squad for a week now and I love the vibe already.”
